WATERCOLORS TURBO for Intermediate Students
Jan. 12 - Feb. 16, 2025
Sun for 6 weeks from 2 - 5 pm
This session of 6 classes broadens the knowledge of Watercolor painting with new color challenges and technical demands. The intermediate artist expands and perfects acquired skills when introduced to novel color schemes and techniques to render colorful fall landscapes and icy winter scenes.

INTAGLIO - drypoint to aquatint
Jan. 15 - Feb. 19, 2025
Wed for 6 weeks from 10 am - 1 pm
Learn the traditional techniques of etching on copper! In this class, we will practice drypoint, hard ground etching, and aquatint to develop images with a full range of values, and, of course, printing those images on GAC's American French Tool Co. press affectionately called Beau.

We are proud to announce that Garrison Art Center has been awarded $40,000 from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA). Thank you @nyscouncilonthearts for the continued support of Garrison Art Center. Along with this general support grant, we have also been awarded an additional $10,000 to support Artist Jeremy Dennis, Garrison Art Center’s Visiting Artist for 2025.

Artist Jeremy Dennis, a resident of the Shinnecock Indian Nation in Southampton, New York, proposes an immersive art installation that showcases a selection of photographs from the “Rise” Project. “Rise” is a collaborative endeavor that involves a series of self-portraiture digital photographs, complemented by the participation of various volunteers spanning a diverse spectrum of artists, Hamptons residents, and individuals sympathetic to the overarching concept of “Rise.”

Dennis intends to leverage the NYSCA Support for Artists grant funds to develop new artworks for the “Rise” series that will be showcased in a comprehensive exhibition at the Garrison Art Center, May 17 - June 22, 2025.

For the second year, we've partnered with Putnam Community Action Partnership (PCAP) to collect food donations during the Holiday Pottery Show & Sale. Guests are encouraged to bring non-perishables like juice, cereal, pasta, canned protein, and more for PCAP's food pantry.

Donations can be dropped off December 7–15, 11 AM–6 PM (closed Monday, December 9).

David will bring this hidden history to life with readings and images from his book, sharing the evolution of Moroccan ceramics from rural pottery traditions of the Rif Mountains to the influences of 20th-century modernism and the vibrant contemporary art scene of Marrakech.
